sporting goods, outdoors sportsThere I was chipping golf balls towards a tilted fire barrel 30 yards out with a friend doing the same thing on the adjacent stall. We had a gentleman’s bet to see who could hit it first. Making it in resulted in an instant 10 dollars but of course neither one of us had that kind of accuracy. To the right of the driving range sat flood lit tennis courts available for any who had a racket and ball. My friend said that is where we should be competing. I answered with a question of his talents on the court. Smiling he said something to the effect that he’d played since a kid but hasn’t swung the racket for a few months.

I never played as a kid but was pretty into a year ago. Taking his challenge we both agreed on a heads-up match after I bought a racket. So I have since been browsing sporting goods shelves for an affordable racket and some balls. Online sporting goods stores have the best deals. Tennis is one of those outdoors sports not too many people are great at. I’m hoping my buddy fits into this majority.
