football memorabiliaAfter a very interesting NFL post season, the two teams going to Miami next Sunday for the Super Bowl are the two we all expected to be there at the end of the regular season. They each had the best records in the league and even after New Orleans showed they weren’t unstoppable, playoff games against the Cardinals and Vikings proved they are more than capable to beat the robotic veterans from Indianapolis.

For the Super Bowl, my allegiance is with New Orleans. Not because I’ve hopped on the Royal Street bandwagon but because this is a franchise who has never made it this far. They have one of the most spirited quarterbacks I’ve ever seen and a running back who proved his early success was no fluke. If Brees and Bush operate at 110 percent come Miami, I do give them a chance at winning. The odds are not stacked in their favor though. A friend made a decent sized bet on New Orleans winning after his roommate’s friend came over and wouldn’t stop talking about how amazing the Colts were. Was this a smart fiscal decision? Don’t think so but it sums up the sentiments many football memorabilia fans have who don’t want to see Manning and his team get yet another ring.

I don’t have any Saints’ football memorabilia but with over a week before the big game there is still time. I think there is going to be an even split of football memorabilia for both sides in Dolphins’ Stadium. Manning commands a lot of respect. His play calling is unconventional, talent unique and he has the back up to give him time in the pocket. The Saints defense could change this and will need to to win. Most people coming to our Super Bowl party will have black and gold football memorabilia. There will definitely be a couple Manning jerseys and Colts’ football memorabilia though. This Super Bowl could go one of two ways: Saints take an early lead and shut down Manning’s long pass or Manning allows the Saints to lead first half while figuring them out and explodes come the first possession in the third.
