The Right Sporting Goods for Long Board Canyon Ride |

Yesterday was a perfect day in Southern California to go on a motorcycle ride. And that is exactly what four of us decided to do. Leaving just after noon the freeways out west were wide open and in no time we were exiting off the main drag into a network of coastal canyons that run through the mountains bordering the sandy shores. This is a very popular area for motorcycle riders. We went back up the hill into a new set of twisting roads that came down on the ocean near Malibu. Apart from seeing an older Mustang that had crashed off the road into a ditch there were not many people on this stretch of asphalt. The Mustang by the way was one of probably 15 in some sort of a car club. All the guys had parked and were trying to pull this wrecked 5.0 out of the ditch. They succeeded because it was gone by the time we came back.
At the top of one of the hills that snakes down with the ocean off in the horizon, we pulled off to get some pictures. There was a nice shoulder area at this point where another SUV had also pulled to the side. As soon as I took my helmet off I saw that these guys were attempting a bit different of way down the sweeping turns. Decked out in protective gear like the Protec Drop-In Knee Pads S/M seen in the sporting goods picture above two out of three of them held long boards with nice big wheels. They had done some serious shopping at a sporting goods retailer before heading up to this canyon road. Outdoors sports don’t get much more insane then this.
I asked if they planned to bomb the hill on their boards and they smiled nodding their head. Out of all the outdoors sports I’ve seen there has never been a time when I saw people go through such aggressive turns on a long board. I wondered if they had visited the affordable sporting goods of Olis Outdoors at http://www.route66megamall.com/ for their outdoors sport pads.
The two of them started their descent with a guy in car falling behind. They swept around the turns no problem. It was one of the coolest outdoors sport moments I’ve witnessed. Made me want similar sporting goods to try the same thing. For now, riding a motorcycle through canyons is enough extreme activity for me.
