baseball memorabiliaOne of my neighbor's was a former minor league baseball player when he was young and he had so many stories to tell about the early days when he was coming up the ranks in baseball. Needless to say, he had all sorts of baseball memorabilia from those days and the stories he would tell about his career in baseball were fascinating. He played one season with a major league team, and those were his fondest memories. He was a pitcher so he kept his mitt and a few balls from way back then; these were the most important baseball memorabilia he had. He kept his mitt in great condition by using leather soaps with lanolin in them and the baseballs were in sealed domes.

Before I met him, I didn't know much or care about baseball, but after spending many an evening on the patio with him and his wife, I started to get interested in baseball. He taught me about the game and we would go in and watch the major leagues play on television. After they explained the game to me, I became a big fan and started collecting baseball memorabilia myself. They moved a few years ago, but I'll never forget all the baseball memorabilia he had and his life as a pro baseball player.
